Simple Stroganoff |
Brown the meat | |
1 tbsp Olive oil 700 g Chuck Steak, cut into chip size pieces |
Fry over a high heat to brown the meat |
Cook in a large saucepan | |
75 g Butter 2 Onions, sliced into half-moons |
Fry the onions gently until pale gold 5 or 10 minutes |
Above browned meat Salt and Black pepper |
Stir and season |
275 ml Dry White wine or Dry Cider |
Bring to the boil then simmer for 90 mins |
450 g Mushrooms, sliced |
Simmer for a further 30 mins |
275 ml Soured Cream Pinch Nutmeg |
Check seasoning, heat without boiling and serve. |
