Cauliflower and broccoli dal |
Pre-cook the lentils | |
100g lentils,washed 425ml cold water 1 red chilli, halved and de-seeded |
Bring to the boil, skim off the froth, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes. |
Pre-cook the vegetables | |
90g broccoli 90g cauliflower |
Cook until just tender then plunge into cold water, drain and set-aside. |
Fry the onions and spices | |
1 tbsp butter |
Gently heat the butter in a frying pan |
1 small onion, sliced fine 1 clove garlic, crushed 20g fresh ginger, grated 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp garam masala |
Fry gently until the onion is softened then combine with the cooked lentils and vegetables and serve. |
