Plaice Bangladeshi |
Cook in a large frying pan | |
2 tbsp soya or sunflower oil |
Heat the oil |
1 tsp white poppy seeds 1 tsp Bengali 5 spice seeds |
Stir fry the whole spices for 10 seconds |
1 tsp dijon mustard 1/3 tsp turmeric 1 green chilli, finely chopped |
Add the spices and continue stirring for 30 seconds |
2-4 garlic cloves, chopped 75g spring onions (leaves & bulbs), chopped |
Stir fry the garlic and spring onions for a couple more minutes |
200 ml water |
Add the water and bring to the boil |
2 x 200g plaice fillets |
Add the fish and simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally |
1 tbsp desiccated coconut 2 tbsp coconut milk powder 1 tbsp mango pickle, finely chopped 1 tbsp corriander leaves, chopped Salt to taste |
Add and bring back to a simmer and stir for at least 5 minutes until the fish is cooked. Add salt to taste and serve. |
